April 28, 2020 - Harris County Commissioners Court approved an $834,792 agreement with an engineering firm for design, bidding and construction stage services in support of this project.

August 28, 2018 - Harris County Commissioners Court authorized an amendment to a 2017 agreement with an engineering firm for specialized environmental services in support of this project.

December 5, 2017 - A Prospectus for this project was submitted to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and put on Public Notice.

March 7, 2017 – Harris County Commissioners Court approved a $610,688.50 agreement with an environmental firm for specialized evaluation and planning services in support of this project.

Project Description

This wetland restoration project will create wetland mitigation credits to offset permitted wetland impacts caused by other Flood Control District projects.

Stage

This project is in the DESIGN stage. This stage will result in an approved Mitigation Banking Instrument and a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permit to conduct wetland restoration.

Bond Listing

Bond Project F-48 is categorized as a “Local Only” bond project, meaning that all project costs will be paid with bond funding without partner funding. The 2018 Bond Project List includes a total allocation for the design and construction phases of $1 million.
