Recent Actions

June 14, 2022 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized an interlocal agreement with Harris County WCID No. 89 for drainage improvements in support of this project.

March 22, 2022 – Harris County Commissioners approved an agreement in the amount of $60,111 for materials engineering and testing services in support of this project.

February 8, 2022 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized the Flood Control District to negotiate an agreement for materials engineering and testing services in support of this project.

June 29, 2021 - Harris County Commissioners Court authorized $52,568.70 for additional design, bidding and construction phase engineering services in support of this project.

April 28, 2020 - Harris County Commissioners Court approved a $361,782 agreement with an engineering firm for services in support of this project in the Morningside Place Subdivision.

February 11, 2020 - Harris County Commissioners Court authorized negotiations with an engineering firm for design, bidding and construction stage engineering services in support of this project.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project aims to reduce the risk of flooding and alleviate street flooding in the phase 1 section of the Morningside Place subdivision. Bond Project F-01 will improve the subdivision drainage system by constructing new outfalls, making improvements to the storm sewers, relocating the flap gate located within Tributary A135-01-00 and lowing the water surface elevation of the subdivision stormwater detention basins.

This project is being designed and constructed in partnership with the Harris County Water Control and Improvement District Number 89.

Location

This project is located within the Morningside Place subdivision, south of Sam Houston Tollway and north of Fellows Road.

Stage

This project is finishing up the DESIGN stage and is expected to enter the CONSTRUCTION stage during fall 2022.

Bond Project Listing

Bond Project F-01 is a partnership project with Harris County Water Control and Improvement District Number 89. Total allocation for this project on the 2018 Bond Program list is $2.5 million.
