Recent Actions

May 19, 2020 – Harris County Commissioners Court approved updates to project details in the 2018 Bond Program List. Update changes funding estimate to reflect actual expenditures.

November 12, 2019 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized negotiations with various political jurisdictions for agreements in support of collaborative efforts to implement the Clear Creek Federal Flood Risk Management Project and Clear Creek watershed bond projects.

March 2019Harris County Flood Control District sent partnership funding to the City of Nassau Bay.

January 29, 2019 – Harris County Commissioners Court approved a $125,000 interlocal agreement with the City of Nassau Bay in support of this project.

December 18, 2018 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized negotiations with the City of Nassau Bay in support of this project.

October 23, 2018 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized and initiated this project.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project is complete.

In this partnership project, the Harris County Flood Control District assisted the City of Nassau Bay with replacing 10 existing stormwater pumps, which help minimize flooding risks in the city. The city paid 25 percent of the project cost and will be responsible for ongoing maintenance and operation of the pumps after installation.

Whether a project moves forward – and how quickly – depends on many factors, including the availability of funding at each milestone, shifting community priorities for flood damage reduction, and other changing circumstances (such as the price of trees or concrete) from year to year.
