Recent Action

June 14, 2022 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized an application to the Texas Division of Emergency Management for the Halls Bayou HMGP-DR-4485-TX Program for grant funds in the amount of $1,379,955, with a required match of $459,985, in support of this project.

September 29, 2020 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized the acquisition of a tract of land for this project.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project will construct two dry-bottomed regional stormwater detention basins, capable of holding approximately 561 acre-feet, or approximately 182,800,000 gallons, of excess stormwater during heavy rain events. All projects included within C-41 will make improvements to the main stem of Halls Bayou.

This project is part of the Watershed-Wide Project Implementation Program for Halls Bayou.

Location

The stormwater detention basins will be located between Hardy Toll Road and the P118-21 tributary north of Halls Bayou and the Hardy Toll Road and Brooklyn Street south of Halls Bayou.

Stage

This project is in the FEASIBILITY STUDY stage.
