January 4, 2022 – Harris County Commissioners Court approved an interlocal agreement in the amount of $164,563 with the City of La Porte, Texas in support of this partnership project.

April 28, 2020 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized and initiated this project.

Project Description

This partnership project with the City of La Porte involves right-of-way acquisition, design, and construction of general drainage improvements along Little Cedar Bayou, formally identified as HCFCD Unit F216-00-00. The 4-mile long F216-00-00 channel, part of the San Jacinto & Galveston Bay watershed of southeast Harris County, drains an area of approximately 3.5 square miles. Funding is provided by the 2018 HCFCD Bond Program, Bond ID C-57. The City of La Porte will contribute approximately $2 million and take the lead in this project. The Harris County Flood Control District will contribute up to $8 million.
