CONSTRUCTION STARTS ON FOREST HILL BRIDGE REPLACEMENT AT BRAYS BAYOU

The Harris County Flood Control District has begun construction to replace the existing two-lane neighborhood bridge at Forest Hill Boulevard near Gus Wortham Golf Course with a new higher, longer and wider bridge that will improve the conveyance of stormwater along Brays Bayou in south central Harris County.

HARRIS COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT RESPONDS TO U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS HARVEY RECOVERY WORK PLAN

On July 5, 2018, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released a summary of their work plan for studies and construction projects related to funding provided in the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018, which was passed and signed into law on February 9 of this year. The Harris County Flood Control District is pleased to report that many of our requests are included in the posted work plan.

Heavy rainfall – 6-8 inches in some areas – has caused widespread flooding throughout Harris County. Emergency management officials are urging residents to stay in place if at all possible and, if you must venture out, DO NOT drive into high water.
