In an effort to keep you informed about the Harris County Flood Control District’s continuing improvements in the Clear Creek watershed, we are pleased to announce construction on the final phase, Phase 3, of the South Belt Stormwater Detention Basin is now substantially complete. To commemorate the completion of this project, a ribbon-cutting event was recently held by Harris County Precinct 2.

The Harris County Flood Control District will hold a virtual Community Engagement Meeting for the Vince Bayou Drainage Improvements Project located in the Vince Bayou watershed. The purpose of this meeting is to inform residents about the project’s status, share project information, and gather important community input on this effort.

HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS – The Harris County Flood Control District and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District have agreed to a new collaborative path forward for the Buffalo Bayou and Tributaries Resiliency Study (BBTRS). With this agreement, the Flood Control District will contribute additional funding and technical assistance to support the BBTRS effort and will temporarily take the lead on additional analysis of various study alternatives, including deep stormwater tunnels.
